• Bat microphone testing added to main menu: Allows users to test if the ultrasonic bat microphone is working.
  
  • Use the DOC bat tester app to play a bat call.
    
  • Bat Test displays “Bat Detected” on the screen as soon as a bat call is detected, before writing to the SD card.
  • The LED flashes during writing to SD Card.
• Automatic Hardware testing added to main menu: Users can now run a series of automated hardware tests the ensure each component of the audio pipeline are working .
  
  • Data EEPROM: Tests the memory hardware that stores protocol settings
  • Dsp EEPROM: Tests the memory hardware that stores DSP code
  • Rtc: Test the hardware connection to the hardware that stores and keeps time
  • Alarm: Tests whether the device will be able to wake up at start time specified by the next protocol
  • Battery: Brand new alkaline batteries should see 6v here. Never deploy if <4.5v
  • Dsp comms: Tests the connection to hardware that processes audio.
  • SD card - If a card is inserted it will test if it can save? Yes. Also tests if the card is formatted correctly.
  • Test switch - Press each of the buttons to test they are working.
  • Audio test low: Tests the connection to audio ADCs
  • Audio test high: Tests the connection to audio ADCs

What's New

• Mobile App Connectivity: Set up your AR5 and AR4 devices using the new mobile app. Save setting templates to your phone, quickly configure multiple units via NFC, and read device settings and firmware versions directly from your recorder.
• Up to 6 Recording Periods: When using the mobile app to setup your recorder you can schedule up to 6 different recording periods in your daily schedule.
• Recording Times: Each recording period can now be as short as 1 minute, with a maximum length of 15 minutes. Longer sessions are split into multiple 15-minute files (for example, a 19-minute session becomes one 15-minute file and one 4-minute file).
• SD Card Software: Updated FatFS library to version 1.6.
• LED Indicator: The LED now lights up immediately when flashing firmware, confirming the process has started.
